Marty is a globally recognized financial executive and advisor with over 20 years of financial and operational experience in addressing over 75 special situation investments. He is a CEO and Co-founder of Buckle, an inclusive financial services platform company which is incorporating new technologies and data into insurance and credit products, alongside executing an M+A strategy, to create the USAA of the gig economy. He also serves as a Managing Director at M-3 Partners, the top Wall Street boutique restructuring firm and serves on the Advisory Board of the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Georgia Tech.
He is a proven, experienced turnaround and change management executive; successfully serving as CRO, CFO, COO, CAO and other executive roles in a variety of industries to stabilize operations, improve cash flow, execute business plans, grow profitably and maximize enterprise value. Marty’s executive roles include CRO of IAP Worldwide ($750+ million defense contractor), COO of Noragh Analytics, Deputy CRO and CAO of Young Broadcasting (currently Nexstar, NASDAQ: NXST), and Deputy CRO and COO of Best Textiles (a global textile firm). He has been repeatedly recognized for his turnaround work from the Turnaround Management Association, Turnaround and Workouts, and the Global M&A Network, including recognition as one of the Top 100 Restructuring Professionals in 2015.
In addition to senior operational roles, he is a trusted, experienced financial advisor and investment banker to large and diverse investor groups of banks, BDCs, CLOs, hedge funds, private equity and special situation funds, executing over $25 billion of debt and equity transactions both in and out-of-court.
Marty’s industry experience includes aerospace/defense, automotive, broadcasting, building suppliers, business services, consumer products, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, oil field services, print media, rental/lease equipment, retail, technology, telecommunications and textiles. Marty is a West Point graduate and served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Infantry. He earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and an MS in Operations Research from Georgia Tech. Marty is a member and Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) of the Turnaround Management Association and a member and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. Through military service and government contracting work, Marty holds a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
Marty is also a graduate of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, with a Masters of Divinity, Masters of Theology (Biblical Theology), and Doctorate of Ministry in Workplace Theology, Ethics and Leadership. Marty serves as a Chaplain in the Delaware Army National Guard.
