Trackter has been selected by American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF), in partnership with Farm Credit, as one of the 10 semi-finalist teams in the 2019 Farm Bureau Ag Innovation Challenge.

Trackter, which received $10,000 for being a semi-finalist, is a marketplace platform to trade and track fresh produce and logistics services. Its technology lets buyers, sellers, and third-party logistics firms connect and do business with one another, and gain valuable insights from data aggregated across the marketplace.

Atlanta, Georgia-based Trackter is a startup in the Advanced Technology Development Center’s (ATDC) portfolio of companies.

The Challenge, now in its fifth year, lets rural entrepreneurs showcase their innovative solutions for the U.S. agriculture sector, which contributes more than $900 billion a year to nation’s economy. It is the first such national business competition aimed exclusively at rural entrepreneurs who are launching food and agriculture businesses.

“Farming and agriculture are so vital to our nation’s economy and security,” said Trackter founder Josh Whitlock. “Competitions like the Farm Bureau Ag Innovation Challenge are critical to catalyzing innovation in rural America and we’re proud to be named among the 10 semi-finalists.”

The final four teams — selected from the 10 semi-finalists — will be announced Dec. 5, 2018 and will receive an additional $5,000. Those four teams will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in a live pitch competition at AFBF’s 100th Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana on Jan. 13, 2019.
