NICE Systems, a provider of enterprise software designed to help organizations make smarter decisions based on advanced analytics of structured and unstructured data, and prevent financial crime, said it will acquire Nexidia, a 2003 graduate of the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC).
Under terms of the agreement, NICE Systems will acquire Nexidia for $135 million in cash. The deal is expected to close within the first quarter of 2016. NICE Systems, based in Ra’anana, Israel, is a publicly traded company with a market capitalization of $3.48 billion.
Nexidia develops, markets, and licenses unique audio-analysis applications that automate spoken word searches across production and media asset management systems, as well as file-based quality control and broadcast monitoring for closed captions, video description, and languages.
“The acquisition of Nexidia is part and parcel of our strategy to enhance our analytics offering,” said Barak Eilam, NICE Systems’ CEO. “It is an important step in our mission to deliver the power of customer data and insight beyond the contact center.”
The combination will allow NICE Systems to beef up its analytics capabilities with scalability and performance and help organizations significantly expand their analytics usage in critical business use cases, the company said.
“We are excited for the opportunity to join ranks with NICE Systems in order to create a true analytics powerhouse,” John Willcutts, Nexidia’s CEO said. “The combination creates a win-win scenario for both our customers and our companies, as we join our knowledge, skills, and technologies to bring to the market the most compelling offering.”
