Congratulations to Kevin Bolin, CEO, of EnerTech, and to the entire team. In a recent press release, EnerTech, a 2002 graduate of ATDC, announced it has closed a $42M second round of funding to develop waste-to-energy plants. The company has a pilot plant in Japan and construction was started in April, 2007, on its first commercial-scale SlurryCarb facility located in Rialto, California. EnerTech raised $160 million in project financing for the plant, which will convert biosolids from five municipalities in the Los Angeles region into renewable fuel.
Kevin Bolin founded EnerTech in 1992 to commercialize SlurryCarb, an invention of his maternal grandfather. I particularly admire Kevin for his vision, determination and perseverance. For more than 15 years, he has been working to bring this product to market. His belief in the potential of the technology and its ability to make a difference is inspirational.
