Entrepreneurs’ Night -> Digital Dinner Party

2020-03-19 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Following Georgia Tech’s guidance, ATDC will move all of its upcoming events to a virtual format or reschedule them. Rather than hosting our traditional networking night, Entrepreneurs’ Night, we’re going to be hosting a “Digital Dinner Party” . From the comfort of your own home, grab your dinner and a beverage and join hosts Berkley Baker and Connie Casteel to chat about what’s on your entrepreneurial mind. Preregister below, and we’ll send you updates on how to tune in!

About Berkley Baker

Berkley Baker leads ATDC’s HealthTech vertical and coaches companies in that space. He has served as the vice president of sales and business development for a healthcare technology firm, was a facilitator at The Center for Leadership Studies, a strategic consultant of executive teams, and a sales representative from multiple medical device companies. Berkley has 20 years of sales experience, approximately 10 years of experience as a trainer and about 7 years of consulting.

About Connie Casteel

Connie helps ATDC entrepreneurs around the state understand and secure federal funding from the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs — highly competitive research awards up to $1.5 million.  Connie’s background is in proposal development, competitive intelligence, data management, and innovation. Connie began her Georgia Tech career helping to support technology transfer of NASA-developed innovations for three southeastern NASA field centers. Prior to her work at Georgia Tech, Connie was employed by TMP’s Executive Search Division and Solvay Pharmaceuticals.

Developing new products and services is critical in our world today. Often, though, entrepreneurs and small companies struggle to obtain the necessary funding to advance their technologies to the point where they can help solve these important problems. The Federal Government might be an appropriate funding source, but not all funding can be used for all activities, so you must understand the opportunities available, which are best for your company, and when to pursue this funding source.

Join Connie Casteel, the ATDC SBIR/STTR/Federal Funding expert, as she describes how companies can leverage government funding opportunities to help mature technologies into viable products.

    Presentation topics will include:

    · Types of federal funding

    · Sources of funding

    · Tips on identifying the right funding opportunities

    · Overview of SBIR and STTR programs, “America’s largest seed fund”

    · Eligibility requirements to qualify for funding opportunities

    · How ATDC can help you navigate and coach you through the proposal process

    · Next steps in pursuing federal funding
