AWS Workshop

2019-06-27 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
ATDC Community Room (Room 2525)
Address: 75 5th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA

Session 1: Intro to AWS (10 am-11:30 am) with 30 minutes for Q&A
This session will include an overview of AWS Services and AWS Activate program

Lunch: 12:00-1:00 pm

Session 2: Architecting for the Cloud – Best Practices (1:00-2:30 pm) with 30 minutes for Q&A/break
Session will kick off by addressing the most common questions founders have when launching on AWS. Learn how to use AWS to build your web-stack, how to choose the right database and how to build your machine learning solution. Most importantly, learn how to build a secure and compliant solution from the start.

Session 3: Build a Serverless Web Application (3:00-4:30pm) with 30 minutes for Q&A with AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Cognito

In this workshop, you’ll create a simple serverless web application that enables users to request unicorn rides from the Wild Rydes fleet. The application will present users with an HTML based user interface for indicating the location where they would like to be picked up and will interface on the backend with a RESTful web service to submit the request and dispatch a nearby unicorn. The application will also provide facilities for users to register with the service and log in before requesting rides.
