Silence the Shame: Bringing Together Technology, Entertainment, and Academia to Address Mental Health for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

ATDC is proud to present former music industry veteran Shanti Das and her national mental health movement. This special event, sponsored by Cox Enterprises, will bring together a panel of industry experts from entertainment, professional sports, technology, academia, and science backgrounds to address the negative stigma associated with mental health and share ideas to help everyday people find ways to improve emotional, psychological, physical, and social well-being.

    About James "Jay" Bailey

    James serves as President and CEO of the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). Honoring the great legacy and visionary business leadership of Herman J Russell, Sr he will lead the development of the largest center in America, driven by impact, dedicated to empowering Black entrepreneurs and small business owners over 50 000 square feet designed to inspire ideas, create jobs, grow companies, and increase wealth in the community.

    About Randy Brown

    Randy Brown has two areas of focus within Emory. One is working on Government Research Contracts with the Office of Sponsorship Programs. The second is expanding Emory University's Supplier Diversity and Inclusion program with small and diverse businesses. He is currently on the Executive Leadership Council and Business Diversity Council at Emory University. In addition, he is a member of The Supplier Diversity Leadership Council for Georgia Minority Supplier Diversity Council. Before joining Emory in 2020, he held positions in customer engagement, business development, procurement and was a Certified Minority Business Owner at one time.

    About Celena Matlock

    Celena is a business leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and partners with businesses on culture assessments and thought leadership paired with strategy on the development and execution of DEI initiatives. Previously Celena served as Executive Director of Financial Compliance at Warner Media, where she spearheaded the global function with teams across the US that focus on internal control strategy over IT and financial reporting, business process improvement and enhancing operating efficiencies, governance and reporting on Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and addressing risks across the enterprise. Celena has also held leadership roles at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. and Ernst & Young, LLP.
