Environmental Leader, a trade publication focused energy, environmental, and sustainability issues, gave Urjanet its Top Product of the Year Award.
Urjanet, a 2013 ATDC Signature graduate company and leading global provider of automated, standardized utility data, was cited for its Utility Data Service offering, which the judges considered to be exemplary. Urjanet also is a graduate of Georgia Tech’s VentureLab, a sister technology incubator program of ATDC.
Wrote one judge: “Urjanet has been successful with its Utility Data Service because it focuses on solving a specific, difficult problem – collecting and managing utility consumption and cost data – with a unique solution that works well.”
Another added, “The product’s unique value is demonstrated by the fact that many energy and sustainability service providers have incorporated Urjanet into their own solution offerings. This is a practical solution that has delivered real value to customers and the environment.”
The Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards is a program recognizing excellence in products and services that provide companies with energy and environmental benefits. Scores were determined by a panel of independent judges headed by Peter Bussey of LNS Research and also including judges from Ball Aerospace & Technology, BSI Group, C&A, ConAgra Foods, Denver International Airport, ERM, Fetzer Vineyards, General Motors, LNS Research, MUFG Union Bank, Sears Holding Corporation, Staples, the University of California Berkeley, University of Colorado, US Department of Energy, and USG Corporation.
With rapid advancements and a continuous rate of change in the field, sustainability and energy professionals have a notoriously difficult time knowing what products to choose to help their companies increase energy, environmental, and sustainability performance. The Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards give companies a solid base of products, vetted by experts, from which to choose, as well as a variety of successful projects to illustrate how sustainability and energy management is helping companies improve.
“Each year since the inception of the Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards program, the range and quality of the entries has risen. With the bar set high, the pool of 2016 entrants did not disappoint,” said Peter Bussey, research analyst with LNS Research and judging coordinator for the Product & Project Awards. “The community of providers continues to address the rising demand for cost-effective solutions to address complex environmental, sustainability, and energy management challenges. And end-user organizations are becoming more creative in applying the available solutions to get real results.”
“We are thrilled to be recognized yet again with a Top Product award,” said Sanjoy Malik, CEO of Urjanet. “Our mission is to provide the world with easy access to the critical data organizations need to achieve sustainability goals and manage energy costs and consumption, which means that we are continuously improving our product to meet the needs of an ever-evolving landscape. We are pleased that we have become the standard for utility data and that our data is used by both the world’s biggest corporations and leading energy and sustainability solutions providers.”
