
Suniva, a manufacturer of high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, said Ajeet Rohatgi, its founder and chief technical officer, was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).
The National Academy of Inventors was founded in 2010 to recognize and encourage inventors with patents issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, enhance the visibility of academic technology and innovation, encourage the disclosure of intellectual property, educate and mentor innovative students, and translate the inventions of its members to benefit society.
Suniva, based in Norcross, is a 2009 ATDC Signature graduate of the Advanced Technology Development Center.
Rohatgi is a world-recognized leader in the research, development and manufacture of high-efficiency, low -cost silicon cells using unique technology. In 2007 he founded Suniva to create affordable, high-performance solar power products that ultimately serve the market as the most sensible energy option. Rohatgi is a Regents’ Professor and a John H. Weitnauer, Jr. Chair in the College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
