Bark, a Savannah-based startup software company focused on keeping children safe online, was accepted into Techstars Atlanta’s class of 2016.
Techstars, the Boulder, Colorado-based global accelerator, launched its Atlanta efforts with 10 startups that will begin its three-month program Aug. 1.
Bark, founded by CEO Brian Bason, uses proprietary machine learning-based algorithms in its software. The company’s technology alerts parents to potential issues that could put their children in danger, such as cyberbullying. It also warns parents to the possibilities of suicidal tendencies or thoughts and provides them with the tools, information, and recommendations to help them address their children’s needs.
The inaugural class includes three other Georgia-based startups and two California-based firms. FULL STORY.
