Influence Health, which offers software and services to hospitals, has acquired healthcare marketer BrightWhistle for $20 million, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
BrightWhistle, a Graduate Company of the Advanced Technology Development Center at Georgia Tech, helps the medical sector — doctors, hospitals and insurers — get new patients via social media and other efforts.
BrightWhistle’s co-founders, Greg Foster, who is chairman and CEO, and Chad Mallory, chief strategy officer, are both graduates of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
U.S.-based private equity firm Silver Lake, which focuses on technology investing and has $23 billion in assets under management, has a stake in Influence Health. Essex Woodlands, a health care investment firm, also has a stake in Influence Health, which is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala.
Silver Lake ad Essex Woodlands acquired Influence Health in 2012 for $100 million.
