Dr. Lucie Ide, CEO of Atlanta-based startup Rimidi Diabetes, was recently named to the Georgia Community Leadership Board of the American Diabetes Association.
Ide is a physician scientist who trained at Emory University and completed her internship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center before founding Rimidi.
Rimidi Diabetes is a digital health company whose diabetes management platform, Diabetes+Me, empowers patients and providers to identify and close diabetes management gaps, meet patient glucose targets, and create a more efficient care cycle.
The company, founded in 2011, is part of the ATDC Signature portfolio of startups.
“I am honored to be selected to the Georgia board of the American Diabetes Association,” said Dr. Ide. “This will allow me to lend my expertise in digital health to the association and become more involved with the local diabetes community. This is especially relevant as the national ADA recently announced a partnership with IBM Watson and a focus on the use of technology to improve the lives of individuals living with diabetes.”
“The American Diabetes Association is thrilled to have Dr. Ide join our local Community Leadership Board,” said Tiffany Kirkland, American Diabetes Association, Area Executive Director. “She will bring an incredible skill set in healthcare technology to our organization. The Georgia CLB supports the American Diabetes Association in achieving its strategic objectives in alignment with the mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The American Diabetes Association is the only organization pursuing treatments, prevention and cures for all types of diabetes and fighting for the rights of all people affected by diabetes.”
Rimidi is a TAG Top 10 Innovative Technology Company, and recently won the top prize in the inaugural Healthways Innovation Living Lab Pitch Fest ‘16. In addition, the company is a member of The Healthbox Florida Studio in Partnership with GuideWell Innovation, an accelerator program, and has presented its technology to Congress as a member of the App Association.
