Urban Planet Mobile has been named a finalist in the Global Mobile Innovation Award in Mobile Learning. The nomination is for Urban Planet Mobile’s Urban English program in Indonesia with partner Telkomsel. Other competitors in the same category are Nokia, Ericsson, Onpoint and the BBC.
The MLearning project, created by the startup ATDC company, is being recognized among the most innovative in the world. Urban Mobile Planet beat out at least 45 worldwide nominees to be named finalist. Key criteria of the award included innovativeness in terms of ease of use, technology, business model and market potential, as well as evidence that people are excited about and using the product.
Global Mobile Awards 2011will be presented on February 15th in London at the Mobile World Congress.
