Got a great idea for a new web or mobile application? Bring your pitch to Atlanta Startup Weekend for a 54-hour shot at making it a reality.
The event – which begins at 6 pm on Nov. 9 and runs through 9 pm on Nov. 11 – brings together a group of startup enthusiasts ranging from entrepreneurs and web developers to graphic designers and marketers. The goal is to work as teams throughout the weekend to build applications and develop a credible business case around them.
“Whether you are looking for feedback on a business concept or hoping to network or learn a new skill, Startup Weekend is the perfect environment to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup,” said Jen Bonnett, a Community Catalyst with ATDC, Chief Chick at StartupChicks and event proponent.
It works like this: Startup Weekend begins with Friday night pitches. Although anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea, teams form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then spend the next 54 hours focused on business model creation, coding, designing and market validation. The weekend culminates with Sunday night presentations in front of local industry leaders with opportunity for critical feedback.
The event will be held at ATDC headquarters. Tickets are $89 for designers and developers and $99 for non-technical staff. For more information, visit http://atlanta.startupweekend.org/.
