A recent pilot of OpenStudy groups in association with three MITOpenCourseWare (OCW) courses allows active discussion of free MIT course material in free online social study groups. The project has been an exciting success, attracting thousands of participants and spurring OCW to add OpenStudy to five more courses this week as a first step in a wider expansion plan. The OpenStudy platform is a great complement to MIT’s long-running free publications of academic course materials and enhances learning for people across the world.
Open Study, an ATDC member company, was founded by professors and students from Georgia Tech and Emory University and funded by the National Science Foundation and the Georgia Research Alliance.
