Scott Hrastar has been named ATDC's most recent Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR). Scott's strong entrepreneurial background and experience in rapidly growing successful companies is a great asset to ATDC. Member companies now have access to another great resource in Scott.
Scott is a serial entrepreneur who has both founded and led a number of successful technology businesses. Scott co-founded and sold AirDefense to Motorola and was later a member of the senior management team that drove the acquisition of Intellisync by Nokia. While at Nokia, Scott focused on technology strategy and M&A, successfully acquiring several mobility companies for Nokia during his tenure. He is a recognized authority in wired and wireless network communication systems, with particular focus in both enterprise and consumer mobility and security. Scott is also an accomplished innovator and has authored 32 patents.
As CTO and co-founder of AirDefense, he led the development of the world's first wireless intrusion detection and protection solution and helped to grow a business that reached more than half of the Fortune 100. In recognition of this innovation, InfoWorld selected Scott as one of the world's top 25 CTO's in 2005.
Scott holds a B.S.E.E. degree from the Ohio State University, where he graduated as a Presidential Honor Scholar, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
