Need some startup advice? You may want to chat with our newest ATDC team member, experienced in the world of entrepreneurship and investing. Charlie Paparelli has joined our distinguished team, serving as ATDC’s first ever Angel-in-Residence. In this role, he will help coach member startups in search of funding.
“I am excited to be a part of the ATDC community,” said Paparelli. “The energy level, the idealism and the experience at the ATDC is off the charts. Being at Tech Square, right off the Georgia Tech campus is an added benefit. I feel like I am in the epicenter of entrepreneurism in Atlanta.”
A professional angel investor focused exclusively on the Atlanta technology community, Paparelli brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to the table. He began his career in a successful startup and, at exit, enhanced his experience with 10 years in general management and COO roles, finally focusing on angel investing full time. He currently serves as president and founder of Paparelli Ventures, a pre-formation investment company focused on entrepreneurs in the Atlanta technology market.
“My hobby is entrepreneurs and startups,” said Paparelli. “I love what I do, and I am so fortunate to work with entrepreneurs in helping them achieve their dreams. I bring money, wisdom, contacts and, most importantly, a deep faith to the process.”
The seasoned entrepreneur will host regular office hours to accommodate one-on-one meetings with member companies. With the local technology startup scene growing at a rapid pace, Paparelli was brought on board as part of an ATDC staff and service expansion now under way, all aimed at supporting the diverse portfolio of innovative member companies.
When Paparelli is not working, he can be found spending time with his family and, occasionally, enjoying a round of golf with friends.
