FinTech Hack @ ATDC Terms and Conditions, Sponsor Rules

FOR THE SOLE CONSIDERATION OF THE GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ALLOWING

ME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FINTECH HACK @ATDC (“HACKATHON”), I HEREBY RELEASE

AND FOREVER DISCHARGE ALL SPONSORS OF THE HACKATHON, THE GEORGIA INSTITUTE

OF TECHNOLOGY AND THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF GEORGIA,

THEIR MEMBERS INDIVIDUALLY, AND THEIR OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES, AND

JUDGES OF THE HACKATHON OF ANY AND FROM ALL DAMAGES, INJURIES, CLAIMS,

CAUSES OF ACTIONS, LIABILITY OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING ACTUAL

ATTORNEYS’ FEES AND EXPENSES), KNOWN AND UNKNOWN, FORESEEN AND UNFORESEEN,

NOW OR IN THE FUTURE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO: (i) BODILY AND PERSONAL

INJURIES AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND THE CONSEQUENCES THEREOF, (ii) FROM MY

PARTICIPATION IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE HACKATHON, (iii) MY RECEIPT, USE

OR REDEMPTION OF ANY PRIZE, OR MY INABILITY TO RECEIVE, USE OR REDEEM ANY

PRIZE, OR (iv) MY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE HACKATHON RULES.

NEITHER THE SPONSORS OF THE HACKATHON, THE GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

AND THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF GEORGIA, THEIR MEMBERS

INDIVIDUALLY, AND THEIR OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES, NOR THE JUDGES OF

THE HACKATHON WILL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,

CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES IN CONNECTION WITH THE HACKATHON.

 

I further covenant and agree that for the consideration stated above I will

not sue any sponsor of the Hackathon, the Georgia Institute of Technology,

the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, their members

individually, their officers, agents, or employees, for any claim for

damages arising or growing out of my participation in the Hackathon. I

understand that the acceptance of this release and covenant not to sue

Georgia Institute of Technology or the Board of Regents of the University

System of Georgia shall not constitute a waiver in whole or in part, of

sovereign or official immunity by said Board, its members, officers, agents,

and employees.

 

I certify that I am over eighteen (18) years of age and suffering under no

legal disabilities and that I have read the above carefully before signing.
