It is always painful to see a good opportunity that is poorly presented. It could have been the next great startup idea, but the CEO couldn’t communicate it. It doesn’t reflect well on the CEO or the business. Not everyone is born to be a public speaker, but with some advice and practice they can make great improvements.
One of my favorite books for technology entrepreneurs is Even a Geek can Speak. It was written by Joey Asher, local speech coach that is very good. We have used him multiple times at the ATDC. This book is a fun, easy read and Joey mentions a lot of Atlanta companies and entrepreneurs so you can relate to it. You can buy it here at Amazon.
Another great resource is Joey’s website, www.speechworks.net and their monthly e-newsletter always has a few great tips to improve your communication skills.
