The Clean Energy Speakers Series is powering up for another great year of discussion of energy-related issues. The goal of the series is to provide an objective, factual, and comprehensive analysis of the Southeast’s energy and power requirements and to examine the extent to which clean energy technologies can meet some of these demands.
The advisory team has set the agenda with an eye to assessing regional energy and power demand and viability and availability for deployment of technological solutions such as biomass conversion, solar, wind, nuclear, and carbon capture and sequestration. The intended outcome of this series will be a road map for energy and power sources and uses for the Southeast for the next 20 years.
The Clean Energy Speakers Series is kicking off in September with “SouthEast Wind Energy: Is An Answer Blowing in the Wind?” The speakers will consider the viability of wind as a source for utility and commercial-scale power in the Southeast. A Webcast of this first event will be offered a couple of weeks later if you cannot make the event.
Events will generally be on the last Wednesday of the month with the exceptions of November and December. The November event will be on November 17th, and there will be no meeting in December.
