More than a quarter of the startups named to the Technology Association of Georgia’s (TAG) Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia list, are member firms of the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC).
TAG’S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact, and their efforts at spreading awareness of the state’s technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and abroad.
ATDC, a program of the Georgia Institute of Technology, is a startup incubator that serves entrepreneurs across Georgia and works with them to help develop their startups into viable and successful companies. Two of the ATDC companies on the list, were also part of Georgia Tech’s VentureLab program, which works with Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students to help them commercialize their ideas.
“We strategically moved NexDefense’s headquarters from Silicon Valley to Atlanta to capitalize on the city’s depth of experience and cybersecurity talent,” said Mike Sayre, co-founder, president, and CEO of NexDefense, a member of ATDC’s Signature program. “Each day we are reminded that the choice we made was the correct one. We are pleased to be recognized two years in a row for our technology innovation and contribution to the state of Georgia, and look forward to many more outstanding years to come. ”
Companies named to the list will be showcased in an exhibition at the 2016 Georgia Technology Summit scheduled for March 17.
“The 2016 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia’s Technology community,” Tino Mantella, TAG’s president and CEO, said in a statement. “The 2016 Top 40 finalists are shining examples of what makes our state such a hotbed for technology and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community.”
