Information for the ATDC community related to the Coronavirus outbreak

The Advanced Technology Development Center is closely monitoring the COVID-19/coronavirus situation. We are committed to you — our technology entrepreneurial community — and our mission to serve startups across the state of Georgia. Our greatest concern is for the health, safety, and well-being of our companies, their staff, our sponsors and partners, and the ATDC team. As a unit of the Georgia Institute of Technology, we are following its COVID-19 protocols and have implemented the following:

  • ATDC staff are working remotely to the greatest extent possible. Portfolio companies should contact their respective Entrepreneurs-in-Residence or Catalysts to determine if virtual meetings are possible.
  • ATDC classes will continue digitally. We will hold our classes via BlueJeans. Please check our ATDC web calendar for all class updates: org/community. All digital classes will have a link to the BlueJeans event for that class.
  • Office hours with sponsors are also going virtual. Our portfolio companies have been contacted and will set virtual office hours via Calendly or e-mail.
  • The 2020 ATDC Startup Showcase is postponed. We hope is to host it later in the year, but it’s too early to say when at this point.

These are extraordinary measures, but necessary as we navigate this uncertain time together. We will stay connected, and hope everyone remains safe and healthy. Despite this uncertainty, our portfolio companies are tackling the coronavirus crisis head on and bringing their solutions, talents, and expertise in this fight against COVID-19.

Here is how our portfolio Signature and Accelerate companies are responding to the national call to action:

  • Rimidi: Launched its patient-reported outcomes survey app to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in healthcare settings.
  • GoodrCo.: Started a breakfast and lunch service for Atlanta Public School students; working with school social workers to find homebound families in need.
  • Physician 360: Using real-time epidemiological data and the CDC’s standard-of-care guidelines, its 48-state physicians network is offering coronavirus screening consultations.
  • Acivilate: Government agencies can use PokketSM app for confidential engagement with vulnerable citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic. It Pokket minimizes the need for face-to-face contact, and allows all parties to collaborate via their smartphones for curfew check-ins from those on probation and parole, continuity of care for at-risk children, or self-isolation for social services clients under quarantine.
  • Grassroots Labs: Working on a home test kit option they hope to make public soon.
  • Surefhir: Developing coronavirus exposure tracker tool working in real time to identify clinicians with the highest risk of infection based on their total involvement with coronavirus patients. This tool will be available on the Epic App Orchard.
  • Oncolens: Software for virtual healthcare meetings and, in particular, tumor boards.
  • Voxie—huge surge in demand for their personalized mobile messaging tools. We are helping them find customer service managers the demand is so high.
  • Cue is offering its scripting software for customer service teams and insides sales groups free for 60 days to all ATDC companies that want to use it to improve performance and efficiency. It has hosted a series of webinars to offer their software to others.
  • Worthix and Finosec: Shared policies and best practices for remote working.
  • Corstrata: has a telehealth/home health solution.
  • Cyrano: shared a library of videos around best practices for on-camera meetings: https://cyranosystems.com/on-camera-tips/.
  • RelyFy: Added in-app training and required educational videos for homecare workers to assure compliance and best practices for those home care workers taking care of the most vulnerable parts of the population.
  • Layr: Shared its expertise in communicating during a crisis and business insurance as it relates to COVID-19.
  • TermSt: Offered guidance on the likely effects of the outbreak on hotel owners and lenders.
