Quantum Wireless joins ATDC Accelerate

The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) has accepted Quantum Wireless, a commercial wireless infrastructure provider, into its ATDC Accelerate portfolio of startups.

Quantum Wireless develops solutions to make people’s mobile phones work in places where they are not operational today. The company, co-founded by two alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology, brings together wireless carriers and property owners to deploy distributed antenna systems (DAS) and other technologies that provide cellular and data connectivity in any environment. Quantum Wireless clients span all verticals including commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education, transit, sports and entertainment, and municipal government.

A program of Georgia Tech, ATDC is the state of Georgia’s technology startup incubator. ATDC Accelerate is the incubator’s by-invitation-only program for promising technology startups in Georgia before acceptance into the ATDC Signature portfolio.

ATDC has a well-established track record for helping its companies succeed and prosper. ATDC companies have collectively raised nearly $3 billion in capital, and about 90 percent of ATDC startups remain successful five years after graduating from ATDC. Almost half of ATDC Signature graduates have successfully been acquired, merged with other firms, or launched an IPO.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to my alma mater for the next phase of our company’s development,” said Quantum Wireless President Dan Harkness, who graduated from Tech with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. “As we continue our work to redefine the business model for commercial wireless infrastructure, we’ll be leaning heavily on Georgia Tech and ATDC resources to help us validate, test, and refine our model. We’re excited about the opportunity to work with leading innovators and entrepreneurs to create additional solutions that provide ubiquitous wireless connectivity.”
