FinTech Hack @ ATDC prize awards

The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) at Georgia Tech is hosting its second-ever FinTech Hack @ ATDC competition from Feb. 10 through Feb. 12.

The competition is sponsored by Atlanta-based Worldpay US — the global payments technology and services company and creator of ATDC’s FinTech Program and Columbus, Georgia-based TSYS — a leading global payment solutions provider. (REGISTER HERE)

Worldpay US, TSYS, and ATDC are committed to help the “Best in Show” team pursue its idea post-FinTech Hack @ATDC with a six-month Grand Prize package, cash, and other benefits valued at $79,000.

This year’s theme centers on the Internet of Things, specifically, wearable financial technology (FinTech). Sponsors are supplying: Raspberry Pis, sensors, Legos, and Amazon Dots. (Please note that teams have to return the hardware.)

The total prizes breakdown is as follows:

BEST IN SHOW AWARD (GRAND PRIZE WINNER)

Grand Prize (six-months):

  • Up to six hours per month of personalized, one-on-one mentorship from key, high-ranking decision makers of the sponsoring companies.
  • Coaching and business strategy guidance from ATDC.
  • Acceptance into the ATDC FinTech Program.
  • Networking/Connections to investors.
  • Cash: $12,000.

The winning “Best in Show” team also will receive:

BEST USE OF WORLDPAY US APIs AWARD:

  • $6,000 in cash and access to decision makers.
  • Three months for a dedicated team work table for five team members at StrongBox West.

BEST USE OF TSYS APIs AWARD:

  • $6,000 in cash and access to decision makers.
  • Three month hot desk membership for four team members at Prototype Prime.

Additionally, $100 Individual Awards will be given to:

  • Most dedicated developer.
  • Best presentation skills.
  • Best leadership.
  • Most dedicated designer.
  • Best original idea pitched.

OTHER FUN AWARDS INCLUDE:

  • Startup Chowdows at Atlanta Tech Village.
