More than 880 registered to attend the 2016 ATDC Startup Showcase on May 12 — breaking the 2015 attendance number, which also set a record for that year.

The Showcase is the Advanced Technology Development Center’s (ATDC) signature event of the year and features startups showing their most innovative and problem-solving solutions across a number of diverse sectors.

ATDC, a program of Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, works with technology startups across Georgia to help them develop into sound, sustainable businesses.

With startups representing Atlanta, Athens, Augusta, and Savannah, and ATDC being Georgia’s technology incubator, Showcase reflects the tech sector’s importance to economic development in the state, said Jen Bonnett, ATDC’s acting general manager.

“We work with a lot of companies all across Georgia, but in particular with those startups in our ATDC Signature program, our most intensive offering,” Bonnett said. “Just the the startups that have graduated out of our ATDC Signature program alone have generated more than $12 billion in revenue in Georgia and have received about $2 billion in capital from angels and other investors.”

The 2016 ATDC Startup Showcase featured more than 60 companies — also a record — that exhibited their technologies, that ranged from health management analytics and financial technology to agritech and robotics. Worldpay was the event’s premier sponsor. Other sponsors included Business Radio X, Coca-Cola, Freshtix, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and Venture Atlanta.

In addition, three companies graduated out of ATDC Signature and recognized in a special luncheon ceremony that featured Georgia House Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick, who is a member the Small Business Development Committee.

The 2016 graduates include:
