ATDC names Eric Parker Augusta startup catalyst

Eric Parker has joined the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) @ Augusta as a startup catalyst.

Parker most recently served as founder and chairman of the in Augusta, where he managed and cultivated relationships with investors, entrepreneurs, and community technology leaders.

His appointment as startup catalyst in Augusta follows the U.S. Department of Commerce’s award of a $500,000 i6 Challenge grant to support innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives in Athens, Augusta, and downtown Atlanta.

The i6 Challenge is a national competition that seeks to fund small, but targeted high-impact initiatives that support startup creation, innovation, and commercialization.

The award, which Georgia Tech is matching with an additional $517,787, will be used to provide education, support, and programs to develop the entrepreneurial community in Georgia in the three communities.

Parker obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
