Two company founders are stopping by the next ATDC Entrepreneur’s Night on June 21 to discuss their experience with university technology commercialization. Join us for food and beverages as Mike Orndorff, CEO of Sentrinsic, and Dave Beck, the company’s COO, share tips on utilizing technology developed at a university for your business.

The entrepreneurs will discuss the pros and cons of spinning out of a university technology, how to choose the right technology, tips for working with a university technology licensing office and advice for finding support in the Atlanta and Southeast tech scene.

Founded in 2006, Sentrinsic is an innovative engineering products and services company that uses patented technology and embedded controls expertise to make industrial machinery smarter. The ATDC graduate company – which was built on technology developed at Georgia Tech – partners with industrial and mobile equipment manufacturers to inject new technology into mature product lines.

The pair of entrepreneurs is well-versed when it comes to university technology commercialization. Orndorff helped form Sentrinsic while finishing his MBA at Georgia Tech and working as a Business Analyst at ATDC. He previously served as the VP of Product Marketing for MarketingCentral, a marketing collaboration software startup. Beck also worked as an early-stage business investment analyst at ATDC’s Seed Capital Fund and served in various roles including Director of Operations, Startup Consultant and Marketing Manager for CRM, Inc. and PepsiCo prior to starting Sentrinsic.

Entrepreneur’s Night takes place the third Thursday of every month in ATDC Community Room 235. Running from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the monthly event provides young startups with the chance to hobnob with other industry players and hear success stories from a distinguished ATDC entrepreneur. The networking event is free for ATDC members, so register now to attend.
