Startup Chicks Accelerates Nine Startups

Startup Chicks was formed a little over a year ago to connect, grow, and inspire women entrepreneurs in Atlanta. The group has been a smashing success, attracting over 500 members led by a core group of successful women serial entrepreneurs. In an effort to provide more than just networking and support, Startup Chicks launched a startup accelerator program in January that challenged members to pitch their ideas and then coached the women through the venture-building process. The companies in the group made incredible progress tweaking business models, building websites, and developing marketing and business plans, with several of the participants going from idea to launch in just four months. The first graduating class of the 2010 Startup Chicks Accelerator Program shared their successes and lessons learned at the group’s May 19th meeting. The nine graduating companies were

Abundant Closet – By developing Fashion-Ade, an online virtual closet and automated personal stylist, Abundant Closet has created a refreshing way to get dressed.
