Go Green: EPA Releases SBIR Solicitation

The Environmental Protection Agency released its 2010 SBIR Solicitation.  This 6-month, Phase I award will be a maximum of $70,000.  The objective of this Phase I study will be to determine technical feasibility and preliminary commercialization potential.  The EPA is interested in advanced technologies that address GREEN BUILDINGS and EPA TECHNOLOGY NEEDS:

GREEN BUILDING

A.    GREEN BUILDING MATERIALS AND SYSTEMS

·         Building Materials and Site Management

·         Energy and Indoor Environmental Quality

·         Water Use and Management

EPA TECHNOLOGY NEEDS

B.    INNOVATION IN MANUFACTURING

C.   NANOTECHNOLOGY

D.   GREENHOUSE GASES

E.    DRINKING WATER AND WATER MONITORING

F.    WATER INFRASRUCTURE

G.   AIR POLLUTION

·         Air Pollution Control

·         Air Pollution Monitoring

H.   BIOFUELS AND VEHICLE EMISSIONS REDUCTION

·         Ethanol, Biodiesel and other Biofuels

·         Diesel Construction and Truck Retrofits

I.      WASTE MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING

·         Cleanup of Contaminated Sediments

·         Waste-to-Energy Systems

·         Hazardous Waste Monitoring

J.    HOMELAND SECURITY

·         Decontamination

·         Detection

·         Microbial Viability Assessment

·         Drinking Water and Wastewater Security

Proposals will be due on or before 12:00 p.m. (noon) May 20, 2009.  NOTE: This is a paper submission, so allow time for delivery.
