Securing financing can be one of the most daunting challenges to someone starting out on a new business venture. Inventors face a unique set of obstacles in that they are not always looking to create a business around their invention. On Monday October 27th, the SBIR Assistance Program will participate in an Atlanta educational workshop that seeks to help inventors understanding the realities of financing their ideas, and provides a how-to for those looking to interest investors, from friends and family to venture capitalists. Greg McGraw, a partner with TechCFO and over 25 years of top level financial and operational leadership, will discuss financing for all levels of inventors. Alan Urech, a Managing Partner and Principal at Stoney River Capital Partners LLC, an Angel-backed consultancy that places investment into high growth companies, will show participants what is necessary to take their idea to the next level and gain the interests of venture capitalists and angel investors.

Agenda Topics: • The fundamentals of financing • The realities of financing • What inventors need to know about approaching an investor • What investors are looking for • Taking the necessary steps to interest an investor in your product or business • Small Business Innovation Research Funding (SBIR) – What is it and how does it work?
