Highland Capital Partners (“HCP”) puts its new media and entrepreneurship experience to work with the launch of Entrepreneurship Central.  Entrepreneurship Central is a portal to broadly share advice and insight on the process of entrepreneurship, innovation and company building with emerging entrepreneurs around the globe.

Highland Capital Partners is one of the top tier VC firms who truly invest for the long-term with its companies.  They invest in a wide range of technologies including IT, consumer and healthcare.   They are almost always the first institutional investor, working alongside the entrepreneur over the long-haul.  Notable companies with exits or IPO’s include Atlanta-based Checkfree, Nasdaq traded company which went IPO, N2 Broadband, sold for $118 M to Tandberg Television, and other companies scattered around the globe including Guidant, Ask Jeeves, Staples, MapQuest, and Sybase.

HCP is sponsoring ATDC’s fundraising bootcamp kicking off in October, showing a strong interest in identifying the hottest Atlanta-based companies. They also put on their own bootcamp in Boston this summer.  Podcasts and short excerpts from these programs are available at Entrepreneurship Central with topics including:  Validating Business Models, Building the Team, Protecting IP and much more.
