Zooz Mobile On CNN

ATDC company, Zooz Mobile, was featured on CNN’s Edge of Discovery program last week. Titled “The Hot New Musical Instrument: Your Smartphone”, the article highlights the growing trend of using smartphones to make music and engage music fans.

The application, Zoozbeat, was created at Georgia Tech and uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to create different sounds based on how the user moves the phone. A recent release of the app allows for more social sharing of musical creations. The video features interviews with founder, Gil Weinberg, lead engineer, Mark Godfrey, and rapper, Street Lotto, all here at ATDC in Midtown.

Hands On Social Media

An exciting new series of educational events is launching across the country in October and November. Kirtsy has joined forces with Microsoft Office Live to offer five Hands On Small Business (#HOSB) sessions to cites throughout the US and Canada, including here in Atlanta.

These sessions promise to be very “Hands On” and interactive.  They are designed to offer practical advice, direct instruction, and application tips to help small businesses and entrepreneurs effectively use online and social media solutions.  The events will be held at ATDC in midtown with Tessa Horehled as the facilitator.  The sessions are free and open to the public.  You can sign up for one of the Atlanta sessions here.

ATDC is looking forward to hosting the Hands On sessions.

ATDC Tweets

While you won’t find ‘ATDC’ on Twitter, we’re all there! We believe people follow people. And our people tweet about ATDC, entrepreneurial news, technology-related updates, angel funding and venture capital, tech community events and happenings, and, admittedly, some personal stuff. People are far more interesting than logos, don’t you think? If you agree, follow us:

Balaya Joins the ATDC Community

Balaya is the newest ATDC member company located in Savannah, GA. The social media start-up develops social media tools that provide businesses with tangible results and a competitive advantage. By focusing on building community through content, customization and convenience, Balaya offers solutions to bring companies closer to their customers, employees and partners. Their tick-it prodcut works like a CNN news ticker aggregating a user’s most important online communication in one, easy to access location.

Check out their website for more information and cool facts like where the name Balaya came from:

Balaya Balaya comes from the savory dish known as jambalaya. You know the one, that rich and satisfying stew combining unique and fabulous ingredients.  Each is great by itself, but together, as a group, well, they’re even more specatcular.

Join us in welcoming the Balaya team to ATDC!
