Who will be there?
Stephen Fleming, the new Vice Provost of Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute and many of ATDC’s staff will be on hand to discuss the new ATDC.

What’s the agenda?
While there will be a short introduction, the majority of this event will be us listening to you! Our goal is to hear your suggestions for how ATDC can best help Atlanta startup entrepreneurs see the most success.

Why should you come?
If you are running a technology startup in Georgia, you should definitely plan to attend this event because this is your opportunity to provide your ideas, thoughts, and feedback as to how we can best help you build a successful company.

How do you register and find more details?
In anticipation of the demand and to ensure as many can attend as possible this event will be run twice on August 20th. Feel free to register for whichever session best meets your schedule as Stephen Fleming and most of the ATDC staff will be on hand for each event.

Help Us Help You

So, you’ve applied to ATDC – now what? Now, we want to provide you with membership benefits that you need to accelerate your business. To do that, we need your feedback, your suggestions, your comments and questions. Help us help you!

To get you started, here’s a short list of services that we think would be beneficial to you.

  • Startup Circles – Each member company will be involved in a Startup Circle – a subgroup of ATDC members (segmented by georgraphy, industry, stage of growth, etc.). These will be created as a means of program delivery, as well as ease of getting together and networking with fellow entrepreneurs. Startup Circles will have their own CEO roundtables, member roundtables (based on subject matter), socials, and the like.
  • Startup Catalyst Coaching – The ATDC staff is made up of Startup Catalysts that provide coaching, instruction, connections, and support. ATDC members can request Startup Catalyst coaching by signing up for their office hours.
  • St. Charles Open Breakfast – Join ATDC associates every Monday morning at 7:45 a.m. at St. Charles Deli in Technology Square. No agenda – just open dialogue about whatever is on your mind.
  • Brown Bag – Brown Bag is a monthly educational program that covers startup business issues (i.e. sales, marketing, fundraising, exit strategies, etc.).
  • Social Networking – Social networking with ATDC is as simple as befriending us on Facebook, joining our group on LinkedIn, and following us on Twitter.

Okay – your turn. Is this what you want? If not, expand on these benefits to make them better – or give us some new ideas all together. (Don’t worry – we’ve got more ideas, too – we just want to hear from you first!)

And stay tuned – we’re planning a few open forum sessions so that you can bring your ideas to us in person! Check back for dates and times.

ATDC Tweets

While you won’t find ‘ATDC’ on Twitter, we’re all there! We believe people follow people. And our people tweet about ATDC, entrepreneurial news, technology-related updates, angel funding and venture capital, tech community events and happenings, and, admittedly, some personal stuff. People are far more interesting than logos, don’t you think? If you agree, follow us:

2009 Showcase Wrap Up

Outstanding! That’s the word that best summarizes the 2009 ATDC Entrepreneurs Showcase this year. Nearly five hundred people came to the event yesterday. As one participant said “Everyone is here, if the roof were to fall in, it would set back the Atlanta technology community ten years.” The biggest problem that we have experienced, was that we have outgrown the space. That is not a bad problem to have!

ATDC’s “Start Strong” theme reigned true yesterday when we graduated 4 very strong members, CAMotion, Innovolt, Suniva, and SynthisWain Kellum, Omnilink Systems CEO and ATDC Advisory Board member, opened the graduation by focusing on the strong impact and imprint ATDC has on the technology community, as well as the significant gratification he has personally received by being an ATDC volunteer.  Charles Ross, ATDC General Manager, gave a quick overview of ATDC’s strong programming and thanked all the volunteers that help make those programs a success.  Ross proceeded to hand out the awards to the ATDC graduating companies and then passed the mic on to Stephen Fleming, Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute’s Chief Commercialization Officer, who spoke on ATDC’s strong “cousin”, VentureLab.

If you missed yesterday’s event, you missed an excellent opportunity to network with and be inspired by all of the latest and greatest technology startup companies.  Don’t miss out next year when ATDC celebrates 30 years of strong startup success!

And thanks again to all our great group of sponsors including DLA
Piper, Noro-Moseley Partners, Silicon Valley Bank, Bennett Thrasher,
Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, Imlay Investments, Microsoft BizSpark, Morris, Manning, &
Martin, RBC Bank, TechCFO, StartupLounge, TechDrawl, and TechLinks.  As Kathy Harris of NMP summed it up “the crowd of 500+ rivals the major conferences in the region.”

And she is not alone.  The Atlanta technology community is a buzz about the showcase.  Here are some links.

ATDC Entrepreneurs Showcase 2009

It's not too late to join the 600 entrepreneurs, investors, and technology leaders who have already registered for ATDC's Entrepreneurs Showcase to be held on April 29th from 2:00 to 4:30 pm.  This premier Southeastern technology event is taking place at the historic Biltmore in
Midtown Atlanta.

This year the celebration centers around how involvement in the ATDC community helps entrepreneurs "Start Strong".  ATDC member companies enjoy benefits such as consulting, connections, community, center, and credibility.  The success of our four graduating companies, CAMotion, Innovolt, Suniva, and Synthis highlights how these benefits increase the strength and vitality of new technology businesses.

VentureLab, which focuses on commercializing intellectual property developed at Georgia Tech, will also be graduating six companies and showcasing a number of growing member companies.

There is no cost to attend the Entrepreneurs Showcase, please register today.
